ending the Rengregator experiment

i originally created Renga.Mykl.org as a simple experiment in automatically aggregating assorted renga posts from Twitter, searching for the #renga hashtag, as well as sharing my own favorites, plus selected tweets i post as MYKL i AM and Writer To Go. i’ve let this run on auto-pilot for about a year.

i don’t know about you, but i’ve found the results to be mixed, catching some cool collaborations, but far too many repetitious and irrelevant tweets. my own conclusion? there’s little value in automated curation, especially with so many other web apps and services that can do this for you.

in this age of information overload, i believe it is more valuable to curate (aka select and share) content that i have read myself and personally enjoyed, doing so manually and one at a time. starting today, that’s what i’m going to do here.

if you’ve been using this blog to read #renga tweets, you can still read what i was automatically aggregating via Twitter Search or this feed. henceforth, the only content appearing here will be personally curated by me. please let me know what you think of it.

regards,
Mykl

i am deleting spammy, dated or seemingly irrelevant posts from Renga.Mykl.org.
